How Scam-Savvy Are You?

A knowledge quiz on the romance-fraud playbook: the scripts, the tells, and the checks that actually hold up.

Nine questions about how romance fraud is really run — who gets targeted, what the scripts sound like, and which verification steps survive contact with a professional. Nobody finishes this unscammable. That isn't the goal.

Romance fraud is not an intelligence test, and the people it works on are not fools. It is run as a business: scripts, shift patterns, teams, performance targets, and — in cases documented by journalists and law-enforcement agencies across Southeast Asia — workers who were themselves trafficked into doing the typing. The defence isn't being clever. It's recognising a shape early enough that the story stops holding together.

Every option below describes something that genuinely happens, so this quiz teaches whether you score well or not. And if you're reading this with one specific person in mind — someone you've never met in person who has recently mentioned a customs fee, a hospital bill, a frozen account or an investment app — the faster read is the romance scam warning signs, followed by the safety checklist. There is no shame in either direction.
